What is forceplate and dynamometry testing?
At The Injury & Performance Clinic, we use VALD force plates and dynamometry to capture what simple strength tests can’t: how quickly you create force (power), how evenly you load left vs right (asymmetry), how well you control landings, stability and ground contract time to name a few. It’s lab-grade data that turns guesses into clear answers allowing for clear performance markers, identify weaknesses and injury risk with precision.
How does it work and what can you gain from it?
We run a comprehensive series of practical tests using VALD ForceDecks (force plates) and dynamometry, tailored to your sport, position, and goals. In one session we typically complete 8–10 tests, capturing how you produce and absorb force—not just how much you can lift once.
What we test (customised to you)
Countermovement jump (CMJ) & RSI — power, rate of force development, stretch–shortening efficiency
Landing & hop assessments (bilateral/single-leg) — braking control, deceleration capacity, left–right asymmetry
Isometric strength (quads, hamstrings, calves, hips) — maximum force and side-to-side balance with dynamometry
Movement quality metrics — impulse, time to take-off, flight time, eccentric/concentric ratios aligned to your sport’s demands
On the day
Individualised warm-up → guided testing sequence (8–10 tests) → immediate results on screen
