As part of our drive to encourage young people in sport, we’re giving one local junior sports team the chance to experience sports performance testing like the professionals — using the same cutting-edge technology that top athletes rely on to measure, improve and maximise their performance.

The age-appropriate & non-competitive session will be led by the clinic’s expert physiotherapy, sports injury and sports scientists, giving young players a unique opportunity to experience first hand the equipment used by top professionals, and inspiring them for future greatness.

Who Can Enter

The competition is open to local junior sports teams — football, rugby, netball, hockey, athletics, or any sport where performance matters.

Teams should be aged between 10 to 16 and based in Cheshire.


How To Enter

Gather your team and record a short video (up to 60 seconds) telling us what sport means to you.

  1. Post your video on Instagram or Facebook, tag @injuryandperformanceclinic, and use the hashtag #TrainLikeAPro.

  2. Make sure your post is public so we can see it!

  3. Complete the quick entry form below to officially enter your team.

Entries close [insert date], and the winning team will be announced on [insert announcement date]. The prize session will be held over the Christmas break, during school holidays.

Competition Rules & Entry Conditions

Eligibility

  • Open to junior sports teams and clubs (e.g. football, rugby, netball, hockey, athletics, Boxing gyms etc.) based in Cheshire.

  • All participants must be aged 10–16 on the date of the performance testing session.

  • The team must have a responsible adult coach or parent representative present throughout the visit.

Entry Format

  • Teams must submit a short video (up to 60 seconds) on the theme “What Sport Means to Us”.

  • The video should be posted publicly on Instagram or Facebook, tagging @injuryandperformanceclinic and using #TrainLikeAPro.

  • Teams must also complete the online entry form on our website to confirm their entry.

Team Size & Visit Details

  • The winning team will receive a 3 hour performance testing session at The Injury & Performance Clinic.

  • A maximum of 10 children may be on site at any one time.

  • If the team is larger, we can split the session into two smaller groups to ensure everyone takes part safely.

  • At least one adult coach/representative must remain present at all times.

Filming & Photography Consent

  • By entering, all parents/guardians must consent to:

    • Their child appearing in the submitted video entry.

    • The winning team being photographed and filmed during the session, with images and video used for promotional purposes (including social media, website, and local press).

  • Consent will be confirmed through the online entry form before participation.

Safety & Supervision

  • The Injury & Performance Clinic will provide appropriate staff supervision and guidance during all activities.

  • All activities will be age-appropriate and led by qualified professionals.

  • A responsible adult from the team must remain present for the duration of the session.

  • Participants should wear suitable sports clothing and trainers.

  • Participants will be required to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire and Health Screening Questionnaire before taking part.

Insurance & Safeguarding

  • The Injury & Performance Clinic holds relevant public liability insurance.

  • The clinic will ensure that all staff interacting with children are DBS-checked in accordance with safeguarding standards.

Judging & Prize

  • Entries will be judged on creativity, team spirit, and enthusiasm — not technical quality.

  • The winning team will be notified by [date] and must be available to attend their session on a mutually agreed date within [X weeks].

  • The prize has no cash alternative and cannot be transferred.

Data & Privacy

  • Personal information provided for entry will be used solely for the administration of this competition and will not be shared with third parties, except for promotional coverage of the winning team (press, website, social media).
